Hostway Slashes SSL Certificate Prices up to 50% in Time for the Holiday Shopping Season
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates ensure the safety of sensitive information traveling over the Internet from ecommerce and other Web sites. Sale ends October 28, 2007.
CHICAGO, Illinois, October 10, 2007 — Hostway Corporation, the global Web hosting leader, is offering all of its SSL certificates at discounts of up to 50% through October 28.
Hostway's sale comes just in time for ecommerce Web sites to renew or add important protections for the customers during the holiday season shopping rush. SSL certificates encrypt information such as customers' name, address and credit card account number before it's transmitted over the Internet, ensuring third parties can't intercept it. When a Web page is secured by an SSL certificate, it displays two highly recognizable signs of security: "https" in the address bar, and a lock icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Hostway offers customers a selection of 40-bit and 128-bit certificates. Each one carries a one-time $50 setup fee plus the yearly price. Customers who order a new SSL certificate or renew now lock in the sale price for one full year.
